Follow this procedure to install the SCOoffice Server package:

1.    Log in as the root user.

2.    Insert the SCOoffice Server cdrom and enter the following at the command line to install the software:

    # mount /dev/cdrom/cdrom0 /mnt    (OSR6)
        - or -
    # mount /dev/cdrom/cdrom1 /mnt    (UW7)

    # pkgadd -d /mnt/scooffice.pkg scooffice

         Alternately, use the following commands with the cdrom iso image rather than a physical cdrom:

    # mount `marry -a <cdrom iso>` /mnt

    # pkgadd -d /mnt/scooffice.pkg scooffice

3.    When prompted to enter a license, enter the license that came with your product. If you choose
to defer licensing, the product will operate with an evaluation license for 60 days.

4.    The SCOoffice Server should now be configured and running.

Removing the SCOoffice Server

To remove the SCOoffice Server from your system:

1.    Log in as the root user.

2.    Back up all user mailboxes and mail configuration files.

3.    Enter the following at the command line to remove the SCOoffice Server software:

    # pkgrm scooffice

This will remove the SCOoffice Server and re-enable the ftp, imap, pop3, and smtp inetd services, as well as the original sendmail or mmdf mail transport agent and Apache web server.

NOTE: The removal process removes the entire product along with all mailboxes and data files under the /opt/insight directory.
It is advisable to make a backup of of your data before your remove SCOoffice Server.

The removal process does not remove the SCOoffice Server license. Use the SCOadmin License Manager (scoadmin license) to remove the license, if desired.

Starting/Stopping the SCOoffice Server

The master startup/shutdown script is /etc/init.d/insightserver.  Run this script with the start or stop command line argument. Each service has a startup/shutdown script located in the /opt/insight/etc/rc directory with stop and start arguments.

Most of the daemon pid files are located in /opt/insight/var/run.

Setting the Language

The SCOoffice Server web interfaces provide language support for Chinese, Dutch, English, French, German, Hebrew, Hungarian, Italian, Malay, Norwegian, Portuguese, Thai, Spanish, and Swedish. However, the SCOoffice Server help topics are in English only.

To access the web administration console in one of these languages, simply set the corresponding language in your browser. You should also instruct web mail client users to set their appropriate language under Preferences.

Note

The SCOoffice Server default character set is UTF-8.
